Legend of the Cryptids: Which is the Best Element?

Legend of the Cryptids: Which is the Best Element?

Okay, so you have downloaded the app; Legend of the Cryptids and now you are ready to choose your element... Water, Forest or Fire... but, which is the Best Element?

Each element has its own advantages over the other elements. Basically, water cards have an advantage over fire cards, fire cards have an advantage over forest cards and forest cards have an advantage over water cards. This is a general statement based on the card effects found on most 'common' & 'rare' cards. As you level up throughout the game, you will find 'ultra rare' cards that will have effects that don't discriminate based on elemental factors but you will discover that most cards provide advantages based on their elements. This is the hardest part when trying to determine which is the best element in Legend of the Cryptids.

At the beginning of the game, it is important to choose an element that will give you an advantage over everyone else. The ability to win battles at an early stage will set you up to reap more rewards later in the game, including more bargaining power in the trading room. To get the most out of the game, you don't want to be spending real life money to get ahead, therefore, little things like choosing the right element at the start of LOC can make a big difference if you know how to leverage it.

I personally believe that the 'Forest' element provides that advantage, if used to its full potential, and below I list some of the points why:

1. Most players choose 'Water' as their element. This is because 'Water' is the default option when first starting. Also, there are a lot of players from Rage of Bahamut (ROB) that come to try Legend of the Cryptids - Anyone who plays ROB at the top end knows that choosing Man means that you get different advantages, and because Man is represented by a blue colour, players coming from ROB choose 'Water' as their element. As Water cards have a disadvantage to Forest cards - this gives Forest elements an advantage over the majority of the LOC players.

2. The highest attacking 'rare' card is forest based. Umbral at perfect maxed state provides 9072 attacking power. The only other type of card stronger is an 'ultra rare' card. An ultra rare providing over 9000 attack power is a lot harder to come by and if you want to trade for it - it will cost you an unbelievable amount of power potions or energy drinks (between 100-150).

3. Forest cards are easy to come by and some are actually dirt cheap to trade for. For 3 power potions or 3 energy drinks, you can buy an Eager Ammit, which is a top level (pwr 12) 'rare' card. This card has a perfect maxed state providing 8050 attacking power and at 3pp/ed per card, this is a steal! There is no other card providing this level of attack for the price you can get it for. The Eager Ammit is priced so cheap because it is so easy to come by, which leads me to think that Forest 'rare' cards are easier to find, giving players who choose Forest as their element an advantage over the other players (well, to begin with anyway...).

The fact that you can go into the trading room at a low level and grab an Eager Ammit means that anyone from any element can get one, but combined with your attack boost for choosing forest as your element (I mention this below), will mean you should win the majority of your battles...

Card Skill & Effect

The card 'skill' and 'effect' are 2 of the most important factors that a card has because it can dramatically effect the result of a battle.

The card 'skill' describes what advantage it provides if it is activated during battle (obviously...). Also, the higher the skill level of the card, the greater the chance that its effect will be used during battle - so having a card with a skill level of 7 will more than likely have its effect come into play over a card with a skill level of 2, although - the algorithm does surprise me at times.

The card 'effect' determines what advantage or disadvantage it serves if it is activated during the battle. This is HUGE! The most important thing to note is: IF the effect is not activated then it provides no advantage during battle! So to have a card with a high skill level and good effect is worth a lot more than most players know...

Matching Cards & Elements

The last element advantage I would like to mention is not rocket science, but for those who are just starting - matching the same cards and elements gives an extra boost during battle. For example, if you initiate a battle with another player and say you have 'fire' as your element - you will get a boost in statistics when ever you use a fire card in battle. If you battle with 5 fire cards in your front line then you will get 5x the stats boost in addition to your cards normal stats (and card effect, if activated).

So... Which is the Best Element?

Okay, so which is the best element to choose while playing Legend of the Cryptids? I can say that choosing forest can give you an advantage but whether you choose to make the most of it is up to you... The same can be said for the other elements, so I suppose it doesn't really matter what element you choose because at the end of the day - there are so many other factors that can change the battle result: amount of attack power, defence power, other cards, skill & effects, etc... There are although, some things you can do to turn the tides of battle in your favour as mentioned above... So, if you have any preferences - leave a comment below about why you think your favourite element is the best!
